Christmas Shopping made easy at GPT’s latest retail development
Christmas shopping made easy with Rouse Hill Town Centre’s parking

7 December 2007: Visitors to Rouse Hill Town Centre will find Christmas shopping more enjoyable this year thanks to the Park Assist technology installed in Rouse Hill Town Centre's car parks. Park Assist is an automated car parking system that provides a coloured indicator light over every space to indicate whether the space is full or empty, ensuring no time is wasted driving around in circles, looking for the last free spaces. Shoppers at Rouse Hill Town Centre will be able to avoid the queues and spend more time concentrating on the task in hand, looking for those special Christmas gifts.

The technology not only immediately identifies free spaces, it also increases car park capacity by five per cent. Normally car parks cannot exceed 95 per cent utilisation as visitors cannot find the available spaces. In addition to light indicators over each parking space, electronic signs are installed at every parking lane and decision point to guide cars directly to free spaces, allowing the car park to reach true 100 per cent capacity.

Rouse Hill Town Centre General Manager, Martin Ollis, said: "Our customers have told us that the last minute dashes to the shops are made stressful because of the time it takes to park. Implementing Park Assist not only helps our Rouse Hill Town Centre visitors to find a parking space immediately, but also fits in with our ESD initiatives of minimising environmental impact as driving time, and emissions are reduced."

By directing drivers to an empty parking space instead of circulating aimlessly and spending more time in the car, Park Assist will help reduce CO2 emissions by 56 per cent according to an independent review by GTA consultants.

With parking readily accessible, local shoppers can take advantage of the great Christmas gifts Rouse Hill Town Centre has to offer during the festive season. Providing quick and easy access to its 80 specialty stores, as well as Coles and Woolworths, Rouse Hill Town Centre’s retailers offer a variety of ideas for the perfect present.

Local shopper Kerri Wallwork said: “Parking is so much easier at Rouse Hill Town Centre than other shopping centres. The system saves time and is also family friendly. It makes getting to and from the stores simple. Shopping at Christmas has been made enjoyable again!" With Park Assist in use at Rose Hill Town Centre Christmas shopping has never been so easy.
